OTTO  C.  DOBBEKE
 
Tampico: - Otto C. Dobbeke, 97, of Route One, Tampico, died Tuesday at Community General Hospital in Sterling.
 
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Yorktown with Rev. Joyce Heintz, officiating. Burial will follow in Hopeland Cemetery in Buda. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7-9 p.m in the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico.
 
A memorial has been established in his memory to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Yorktown.
 
Mr. Dobbeke was born on Sept. 6, 1888 in Halvas, Germany, the son of Heinrich and Lena Rosemire Dobbeke.  On Aug. 20, 1921 he was united in marriage to Olive Elizabeth Foltz in Kewanee. She preceded him in death in 1948.  Mr. Dobbeke moved to the United States in 1911 and worked for Walworth Company in Kewanee until retiring in 1959.  He also farmed in the Sheffield and  Buda areas during his lifetime and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Yorktown.
 
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Harm (Freda) Ludwig of St. Joseph,  three sons, Otto Jr., of Tampico, Frederick of Deer Grove, and Arthur of Wichita, Kan.;  11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons, two daughters, two brothers and three sisters.
