Tampico: - Martin F. Sheffler, 64, 104 N. Lincoln, Tampico, died Tuesday at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida.
 
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Tampico Methodist Church with the Rev. Janet Prous, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Tampico Memorial Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by Tampico American Legion Post #574.  Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico.   A memorial has been established.
 
He was born September 18, 1924 in Sterling, the son of Clyde and Mary Durr Sheffler. He married Verna Lee Denison, August 6, 1954 in Tampico.  Mr. Sheffler was a switchman for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 35 years, retiring in 1985.  He was employed by the Rock River County Club Shop in Rock Falls and was serving as the Tampico Village Water Commissioner at the time of his death. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy, and a member of the Sterling VFW.
 
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Steven of Des Moines, Iowa and Craig of Clearwater, Florida, three daughters, Mrs. Wally (Marcia) Ahrens of Yorkville, Ann Sheffler of Largo, Florida, Lisa Sheffler of Tampa, Florida, five grandchildren and one sister Mrs. William (Billie) Bardouski of Largo, Florida.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
