TAMPICO TORNADO,

May 8, 1897

The annual examinations of the scholars of the Ungraded Schools of Whiteside County were held by Co. Supt. Johnson last Saturday in Morrison. The class numbered 179, seventy of whom passed with the required average, seventy and one-seventh percent. The highest average was made by Edward Larson, of Hume School, Emma Beardsly teacher; the second highest by Anna Burns, Cedar Creek School, J. W. Martin teacher; the third highest Miss Marcia Webb, Bluff school, Bert Wheelock of Tampico, teacher. The graduation exercises will be held at Morrison, Wednesday evening June 5th.
