Edward Quinn died in Annawan, Henry Co. on 16 Apr 1936. His residence was in Yorktown. Burial in Chicago. He was a brick layer by trade. I am wondering if he died in an accident as he was only 28 years old. His parents were Thomas and Henrietta Quinn and they ran the Red Dot Cabins in Yorktown. They had another son, Donald, who was a painter of buildings. Any information on this family would be appreciated.

Hi Patti, The Sterling Gazette has his obit:
Quinn, Edward B. obituary / killed in accidental crash 16 April 1936;6;3
Quinn, Edward B. funeral rites 17 April 1936;2;1

It seems he was in an accident. The Gazette does not have 1936 online yet.

I can check the Tornado newspaper, too. I'm hoping to make a trip over there today.

Thank you for the item in the Sterling Gazette. I was looking for his name Edward V. Quinn as it was listed on the IL Deaths & Stillbirths Index not as Edward B. Quinn. It's amazing how names can changed from one record to the next and still be the same person.

Patty, How true. I always try to put in as little search criteria I can and then weed through the returns. Sometimes, it's like the proverbial "needle in a haystack"! I hope you find some new information in the article.
