9:46 PM 		Can anyone tell me if the Yorktown General Store is open this year? I have not heard anything about it for a long time or anything from Richard or April either.

Nope, unfortunately the GS is not and will not be open this year. The building is in need of some major repair work and April & Richard are too busy with their (McKenzie) farm house, farm animals and family to dedicate the time & funds required.

For many of us, it was such a treat to visit the store and step back in time, but for April, it required some long, lonely days, often with no one coming in at all.

April and I will be doing our annual lunch soon. Care to join us? (smile)

5:44 PM 		It is so sad about the store- but I certainly understand about the time and the funds.
I think the store was wonderful and am amazed that more local people did not take an interest in it.
I would love to do the luncheon with the two of you ladies if my schedule (and funds make it possible). Please let me know when you are having it and I will try my best to join you !
