Otta G. Gerlach, 80, Dies In Yorktown

 

Prophetstown: - Otto Gustaff Gerlach, 80, passed away Tuesday afternoon at his home in Yorktown.

 

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Yorktown, the Rev. Emil Blobaum officiating with burial in Yorktown Cemetery.

 

Friends may call Thursday afternoon and evening at the Gardner Chapel, Prophetstown.

 

Otto Gerlach was born Jan. 9, 1888 in Suitzeldorf, Germany, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Gerlach. He was educated in Germany and Yorktown schools, coming to the states when he was 12 and locating in Yorktown.  He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church.  He married Cora Frank of Manlius on July 17, 1918.

 

He is survived by his widow, two sons, Lawrence of Spring Valley;  Vyrle of Morrison;  two daughters, Mrs. George (Violet) Park of Siren, Wis.;  Mrs. Glenn (Beaulah) Urban of Hillsdale;  one brother, Albert of New Bedford; 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

 

He was preceded by his parents, one son and one daughter.
