OBIT

TAMPICO - George A. Johnson, 79, Rt. 1, Tampico, died Sunday in University Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday in First Lutheran Church, Prophetstown, with the Rev. Richard Dow, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Gardner Chapel, Prophetstown, where memorials may be left for Winning Wheels Inc, Prophetstown, or the American Heart Fund.

George Johnson was born Aug. 7, 1904, in rural Prophetstown, the son of Will H. and Minnie Ackeberg Johnson. He attended rural schools. On March 7, 1935 he married Oral Raser of Prophetstown in the Methodist Parsonage, Prophetstown. He and his wife had farmed at their Tampico residence since their marriage.

Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Donna) Satterfield, Washington, Iowa, Beverly Johnson, East Moline, and Mrs. Tom (Lyla) Lindquist; Sycamore; three grandchildren; three brothers, Arthur E., Prophetstown, Fred L., Tampico and Leroy W Prophetstown.

He was preceded in death by his parents/
