Jon R. Kiner

June 18, 1950 - December 16, 2010

Jon R. Kiner, 60, of Elyria, OH, formerly of Prophetstown, IL, died Thursday, December 16, 2010, at The Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH, following a lengthy illness.

Jon was born June 18, 1950, to Roland and Lois (Taber) Kiner. He grew up in Prophetstown and graduated from Prophetstown High School,where he was an outstanding member of the track team. He was a graduate of Illinois State University and retired as the Planning Director for the City of Elyria, OH. He previously worked many years for the Sears Roebuck and Co. at the Midway Mall in Elyria. Jon�s interests included traveling, fishing, golfing and watching sports. He was also a huge fan of the Beatles rock band.

Survivors include two daughters, Tiya L. (Sean) Gilchrist of Elyria, OH and Michelle (Michael) Goodrich of Wellington, OH; two sons, Sean R. (Rochelle) of Powell, OH and Scott R. (Kimberlee) of Columbus, OH; eight grandchildren; one brother, Jeffrey Kiner of St. Petersburg, FL; two cousins, Ann McBride and Beth Ruboyianes, both of AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Information

FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Prophetstown, IL

OFFICIATING: Rev. Andy Ploenzke, Pastor of First Congregational United Church of Christ - Prophetstown, IL

VISITATION: 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown, IL

INTERMENT: Riverside Cemetery - Prophetstown, IL
