Stanley and Virginia Shaner, 13634 Springhill Road, Prophetstown, IL will observe their 50th Wedding Anniversary on June 2, 2001.

To celebrate the event, the couple, along with their children and granchildren, will be spending the Memorial Weekend in New Glarus, WI.

The former Virginia DeClercq and Mr. Shaner were married June 2, 1951 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in East Moline, IL.
Their children are Linda (Skip)Day, West Chicago, Mark (Pam) Shaner and Clay Shaner, Prophetstown, IL, Su (Steve) Swanson, TAMPICO, IL, Tim (Tammy) Shaner, Lyndon and Mike Shaner, Belvidere.

There are 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 5 step granchildren and 5 step great grandchildren.

Mr. Shaner was employed 30 years at Harrington Roofing and also for 10 years at International Harvester. They are members of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Prophetstown, IL.
